Auxiliary Core Training (AUXCT)
Auxiliary Core Training (AUXCT) is a series of training courses focused on supporting Coast Guard Auxiliarists’ assignment and performance of duties. The Coast Guard is required to ensure that its Auxiliarists are appropriately trained, tested, and found competent before being assigned to duty. The course selection is a minimum baseline of organizational familiarity and expectation supporting this goal. The value of this training has formed the core of every Auxiliarist’s pledge and commitment to support the Coast Guard and abide by its governing policies.
AUXCT contains a series of courses that members must take as a one-time requirement upon joining the Auxiliary or re-certify once every five years.

AUXCT Training Options
-
Coast Guard Auxiliary Online Classroom (Moodle):
All AUXCT courses including the BQCII course materials can be found in the Coast Guard Auxiliary Online Classroom (Moodle).
Click here to access the training courses in the online Auxiliary Classroom (Moodle). -
Classroom Training:
Many Auxiliarists prefer the classroom environment with a certified Instructor leading the discussion. A qualified instructor can present the class by using an available Internet Connection, and then by logging into the AUX Classroom with their own account and then project the online course on a screen.
Methods of Completion:
Because of the wide-ranging capabilities of Auxiliarists, a variety of methods for taking the core training and establishing AUXDATA credit have been established and are listed here:
-
Online Classroom (Moodle)
As members complete each course and pass the quiz with 80% or greater, a certificate of completion will be issued through the online training system (Moodle).
The result of completing the course will be automatically uploaded to the member's AUXDATA II training file within approximately 1 week after completing the training. The member should maintain the certificate of course completion in the event it is needed.
-
Classroom Training
After the completion of a course, the instructor will complete a 7039 Workshop Mission and Attendance Report form so that each student that is enrolled in the AUXCT course can received credit for completing the course.
When completing the form, the instructor will ensure that:
- No “course” boxes are checked in Section 1 on the form.
- Section II - Instructor, Aides, and Attendees contains the name and corresponding AUX ID number for each instructor, and student that participated in the class.
- That the "remarks" section in Section II of the form the contains AUXCT course name.
Subsequently the Instruction will then forwarded to the IS staff officer for updating AUXDATA II so each student in the class will receive credit for completing the AUXCT course.
